Coast Mountain Veterinary Services, located in the beautiful Whistler area, is actively seeking a hardworking and compassionate full-time Veterinary Clinic Receptionist to join our exceptional team that can work three days per week.

At Coast Mountain Veterinary Services, we take pride in providing exceptional veterinary care while fostering a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Our team is dedicated to creating a fear-free experience for our furry patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout their visit.

As the only veterinary clinic in Whistler, we are a bustling small animal clinic providing preventative, medical, surgical and emergency care for Whistler and the surrounding area. Our patient base is primarily made up of dogs and cats, with a few pocket pet patients and the occasional wildlife thrown in too! We are deeply involved in our local community, and committed to giving back through our work with local shelters and initiatives such as our Stryker fund, which provides financial assistance for pets and their families when facing the need for unplanned urgent/emergent veterinary care.

Job Responsibilities
• Communicate in a compassionate and professional manner with clients and colleagues.
• Greeting and checking in Clients and Patients, being attentive and welcoming.
• Answering phones and responding to emails, triaging clients as required.
• Administrative tasks, such as taking payments, sending invoices and daily balancing.
• Scheduling appointments using our booking platform, updating patient files, reviewing our online booking and ordering platforms, etc.
• Keeping Technicians and Doctors informed when new clients arrive or emergencies have come in.
• Overseeing the sale of over-the-counter items, such as food and retail products.
• Liaising with courier services and laboratories to ensure test samples are delivered and collected, as well as following up on results.
• Monitoring inventory items, restocking when needed and informing supervisor when low stock is noticed.
• Managing patient record requests between other hospitals and labs.
• Remaining calm during emergency and high stress situations.
• Manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Assist with cleaning and closing duties.
• Maintain and support a collaborative work environment and assist other team members as needed.
• Additional tasks as required.

Skills and Basic Qualifications
• Must have a love for people and their pets!
• Minimum High School diploma required.
• Minimum of 1 year previous receptionist experience.
• Minimum 1 year experience in an office setting preferred.
• Computer literate, with previous experience with Microsoft Office required.
• Previous role in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting an asset.
• Previous experience with AVImark or other veterinary booking platforms an asset.
• Excellent organization and time management skills, as well as good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Permanent residency or valid work permit with stable housing within the Sea to Sky corridor required. Someone looking to remain in Whistler long term preferred.
• Availability on Fridays and Saturdays is required.
