Minden Animal Hospital is hiring a Summer Student Veterinary Hospital (Temporary)

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Summer Students to join our team for a rewarding and engaging experience. Summary of Main Activities

· Primary Health and Preventative Care for all small animal pets

· In House laboratory testing

· Diagnostic Imaging

· Hospital Care for sick patients

· Routine and Emergency Surgery

· Dentistry

· Nutrition Counselling

· Alternative therapies including therapeutic laser and acupuncture

List of Tasks/Responsibilities Minden Animal Hospital:

· Proper restraint of animals for procedures such as nail trims, blood collection, preparation for surgery

· Performing Nail Trims

· Greeting clients and taking histories of problems

· Cleaning kennels, exam rooms, treatment rooms to ensure a clean and sanitary environment

· Scanning and shredding documents

· Stocking supplies

· Cleaning surgical instruments and sterilizing them in the autoclave

· Participating in weekly reading assignments on relevant topics and joining a group discussion on these

· Participate with hands on in procedures with mentor or doctor

Skills
• Previous veterinarian hospital experience preferred, but not necessary.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Basic research skills and the ability to analyze information effectively.
• A positive attitude and eagerness to learn new concepts.

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Pay: From $17.20 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 35 per week
