Blue Cross Pet Hospital is hiring a Veterinary Assistant (Full-time)

Blue Cross Pet Hospital is looking for a veterinary assistant to join our friendly and hardworking team. We are a busy, independently owned, 2 doctor practice in East Vancouver focused on providing excellent patient care.

The ideal candidate will:
• love working with animals and people,
• be able to multitask and work well within a team,
• have excellent organizational and communication skills,
• maintain compassion, empathy and professionalism during high-stress situations.

Job responsibilities include:
• providing basic comfort and nursing care and keeping accurate medical records,
• checking appointments in and out,
• animal restraint,
• filling prescriptions,
• assisting in taking digital x-rays,
• sterilization of surgical equipment,
• assisting the receptionist in answering phones and booking appointments,
• maintaining hospital cleanliness.

Prior experience in a veterinary hospital and completion of a VOA program or equivalent is required.

Must be available to work Saturdays.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per hour

Schedule:
• 8 hour shift

Experience:
• Veterinary assistant: 1 year (required)
