Agassiz Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Veterinary Technologist to join our team. The position is open to either part time (mornings) or full time hours.
Duties:
- Assist veterinarians in routine examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures.
- Perform laboratory tests including blood work, urinalysis, and parasite screenings.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Handle and restrain animals during procedures with care and compassion.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper documentation of patient information.
- Educate pet owners on preventive care, medication administration, and post-treatment instructions.
- Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures and assist in recovery protocols.
Experience:
- Previous experience working as a Veterinary Technician in a clinical setting is required.
- Proficiency in laboratory procedures and sample collection is required.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with both clients and team members.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, animal behavior, and common veterinary medications.
- Current registration or ability to register with the BCVTA is required
- Experience with AviMark is great but not required
Pay: $27 - 35 per hour dependent on experience
Expected hours: 24 – 30 per week

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
• No weekends or stat holidays
• No after hours call
• 8 - 8:30am start finished by 2 - 4:30pm depending on desired shifts
Experience:
• Veterinary technologist: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
• BCVTA registration (preferred)
