Peninsula Veterinary Hosital is hiring a Veterinary Assistant (Full-time)

Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team at Peninsula Veterinary Hospital in our brand-new privately owned Veterinary Hospital in Sidney. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a veterinary setting and a strong passion for animal care.

Responsibilities:
• Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures
• Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment
• Provide care for animals before, during, and after procedures
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
• Monitor and document animal health and behavior
• Communicate effectively with pet owners and provide education on care and treatment
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Qualifications:
• Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of animal behavior and basic medical terminology
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in a team and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Compassionate and patient with animals and their owners

Pay: $23.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
