Rice Lake Animal Hospital is hiring a Veterinary Assistant (Full-time)

Rice Lake Animal Hospital is currently looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our amazing team. We need another superstar to help our medical team continue to practice at the high standards our clients and come to expect. We are focused on providing the highest quality medicine, outstanding client service and a positive and fun team environment.

Duties include:
• Assist with nail trimming, ear cleaning, client education, filling prescriptions and computer transaction entry during office hours or treatment times.• Ensure a comfortable and clean environment for all patients.• Provide care to hospitalized patients including feeding and cleaning as needed• Provide outstanding customer care, endeavouring to exceed client expectations• Welcome and support clients and their pets• Build lasting relationships with clients• Answer and triage client phone calls• Schedule appointments• Admit and discharge patients• Assist the Veterinary Technician in providing patient care. Assist with procedures, surgery, treatment, radiology, and dentistry.• Assist the Veterinarians in appointments• Appropriately complete forms for outsourced laboratory tests, accurately files laboratory reports, and clean up lab area.• Assists in radiology and taking radiographs.• Prepares and sanitizes surgery suites. Preps patients for surgery, assist when needed.• Assists with the operation of the anesthesia machine and other applicable equipment.• Cleans, prepares, and autoclaves surgical packs and drapes.
